Undoped YAG crystal (Y3Al5O12) |
The mechanical and chemical stability is
comparable to sapphire crystal, but YAG is unique for it is
non-birefringent and available in a higher optical homogeneity
and surface quality. Undoped YAG Crystal is an excellent material
for UV-IR optical windows, particularly for high energy density
applications. High quality YAG rods and windows are available
from CASTECH.
As the hardest
oxide crystal, sapphire has a combination of optical and physical
properties that make it become the best choice for a variety
of demanding applications. Sapphire maintains its strength
even at high temperature. It has good thermal properties,
excellent electrical and dielectric properties, and is resistant
to chemical attack. The large dimension Sapphire material
and windows are available from CASTECH.
The following Table lists the main
properties of common optical crystals Sapphire, CaF2, BaF2, MgF2, LiF,
KBr, KCl, NaCl, MgO, Quartz, Silicon, Ge, ZnSe, ZnS, GaAs,
Calcite, YVO4, LiNbO3, a-BBO,Silicon
and optical glass( BK7,SF11,F2),etc.They
are all available from CASTECH
